My son and I went to Washington D.C. last week for a vacation - just the two of us. It was a nice trip. We visited the National Air and Space Museum while we were there. I have to say that I look forward to returning to D.C. with the two girls because the educational value of this particular city is enormous. There is so much to do and so much to see. There's an added benefit that admission to the many museums is free.
My son is not home schooled, so this visit was during his Spring Break from school. Unfortunately for me, he wasn't all that interested in roaming the museums. I really wanted to see more than just the one museum. I definitely intend to return to D.C. soon so we can explore all the museums more thoroughly. I know the girls will learn so much from an experience of that nature.
If you can work a trip to D.C. into your curriculum, I definitely recommend it.
